Vintage TEAC R-1000 Transistorized Auto Reverse Reel to Reel Tape Recorder VIDEO. I recorded a video playing an old tape I have, please watch it. This is an old reel to reel player recorder. I tested the play and ffw rwd functions and they all seemed to be OK. I didn’t test any other functions such as auto reverse etc. I think it might need cleaning and also the volume potentiometer needs to be cleaned with contact spray as it is sketchy. Cosmetically, It is fair given its age, from 1966! Please check the pics, pics are part of the description of the cosmetic condition. Comes with the original power cable. Priced to Sell Quick: A moving in the summer forces us to liquate my stuff before that. For sale is a vintage, one of the top R2R recorders. ReVox B-77 MKII MK2 Reel-to-Reel 2-Track 10 Tape Recorder, Multi-Voltage (120-240V). It takes 10 and. 7 tapes, and two speeds (7 1/2 and 3 1/4 ips). The recorder plays fine and produces good music both channels. All operations on the front panel appear to be fine. Eters all work fine, but the counter is not working (most likely the belt needs replacement). I do not have its service history. Physical condition is good, as indicated in the pictures. The handle of Monitor (Tape/Input) and REC-P toggle switches broke off. The switches work fine though (by finger or screwdriver). Also the Volume knob (R & R) is loose. I don’t have time to open it and fix the screw. Please watch the video that shows it in operation. The sale includes the tape recorder only. No hubs, reels, tapes, power cord (I borrowed from another item for testing), or any other accessories. The reels and tapes shown in pictures are NOT included (just for testing). This listing is for a vintage Akai Model 1721W reel-to-reel unit. It does power on. The speakers do crackle when you move the volume knobs and the VU gauges move. The light on the right VU gauge still comes on, but not the left. Both spindles spin correctly when in rewind or fast forward. When looking at the machine, the left spindle is bent slightly. I think this is best seen in the video when it spins. As you can see, it is missing the front’name’ plate and the’door’ cover. The wood frame is chipped badly in one area. You only get what is pictured. Use the’super size’ feature on the pictures to get a better look. Thank you once again.

Video Added Vintage Working Pioneer RT-707 Reel to Reel Tape deck

Up for your consideration is my Pioneer RT-707 Auto Reverse Direct Drive Reel to Reel tape deck. Please read the entire description. I’ve had this unit for a little while now. Cleaned it up from what was probably long term storage. None of the other Pioneer equipment that this RT-707 is connected to is included in this sale. As you see in the video, this unit does play in both directions. Obviously this music that it was reproducing was from the 2000’s to show that it was recently recorded onto the not included tape to show this RT707 is capable of recording still. Speaking of, the recording quality is not exactly the same as CD quality or high quality streaming. I noticed this when I recorded this album just earlier this week. The playback is a bit louder with a little more bass it seems. Might just be my ears or possible the the Line level in set at just above 6 during recording. I have not tried to hook up headphones or Mics to the jacks on the front. I have not adjusted the rear potentiometers. The wheels that are on the head are what were there when I bought it. A little lubrication and they spin like a perfect bearing. Counter does not count. So I’m unsure if the repeat button works since I think those two are correlated. Both green lights work in the direction button next to the play button. From research I see this is not usually working still. The brake on the right side does not slow the reel as quickly as the left. So on fast forward or fast reverse and pressing stop may end up in a loose tape needing to be wound back up manually. Might be user error but better for you to know. I took photos earlier this week of this RT707’s case so you can see the condition if you are not going to rack mount. The black metal looks pretty good overall. I customized my cabinet to hold the reel to reel within the 17 3/4 width opening by cutting slits in the side of the wood to hold the face. So if you’ve ever wondered if the full size 7inch reels would fit, and turn, on both sides of the machine and play within the standard width rack, the answer is yes. So long as you can cut the sides to hold the rack mounting face plate. It’s a great little unit that needs a little tinkering to be top notch again. For all those reasons.
