Sansui QD-5500 4-Channel Stereo Reel-To-Reel Recorder- NEAR MINT! Heads show little or no wear. These rarely come up for sale, and never in such pristine condition. The only defect of note- power cord has been modified at some point; it looks like somebody spliced in about a foot of cord and a plug. I live in suburban Portland, Oregon. Problems are few, and I’m very pro-active about solving any that might crop up. Please examine the pictures carefully. They are part of the description. This is NOT a new component. As such, it does not come with any guarantee– implied or written. Vintage audio equipment is sensitive and does not travel particularly well. So in rare instances, that which was working 100% at my house may require adjustment or servicing before working equally well at yours. WOLLENSAK 3M T-1980 THE SOUND ROOM STEREO Reel-to-Reel Player/Recorder TESTED

Vintage WOLLENSAK T-1980 Reel-to-Reel Stereo Tape Player/Recorder – Complete Suitcase. Known as “The Sound Room” model positioned just above the T-1580 model – “portable” at 43lbs! Unit motor has been tested for operation and mechanical functions – play at both speeds, FF and rewind. The speakers are alive and well. The unit’s running speed and sound output have not been tested. That is the extent of the testing and I can’t vouch for the drive belt condition or other functions. Unit as found from estate of local collector – stored indoors and required no refurbishment for condition as listed. Unit is in good to very good condition – minimal cosmetic defects – limited to light scratches and scuffs. The player mechanism and components are intact and limited testing indicated no problems. Otari MTR-12 4-track 1/2 format 3-speed reel-to-reel recorder 7.5/15/30 ips

This is a very nice professionally-owned Otari MTR12/4. S/N 190x-; model version MTR-12-II-I. Last examined around December 2020/January 2021, it powers up as originally intended, all cards appear to receive proper voltages. I cannot say for sure that all the small LEDs light. Cosmetically the unit is in very good condition overall. The headstack looks very, very good with minimal wear. The deck plays and records normally as one would expect; FF/RWD is good on the transport, the cue/varispeed/other transport controls also work as one would expect them to. Known issues: I think all VU meter lamps are dead. Happens to every Otari out there from this time period. The Channel 2 source select switch seems dirty: it physically flips into all three positions but appears to need to be massaged into activating input position. The indicator lamp reflects this. Wiggling the switch has worked the last three times we experimented with it. Modifications have been made to the capstan control card and possibly other cards in the cage, but I do not know the extent or the details of these modifications. Note there was no head cover issued on this series of MTR-12 decks. This item has been serviced in the past by Everything Audio in Burbank, CA. Sale comprises just the deck itself. No accessories or manual, no tape flanges, no lock down hubs or adapters included. The accessories are shown in the photographs for demonstrative and informational purposes only. If you are interested in physical specifications for purposes of transport/freighting, the model MTR12 with overbridge assembly was factory spec’d at 45.5″ x 26″ x 23. You could use 210-225 lbs. I have described this item to the best of my ability and do not intend to misrepresent. Being a complex piece of machinery there may be quirks, conditions, or developments we were not aware of during ownership or testing.
