Sansui QD-5500 4-Channel Stereo Reel-To-Reel Recorder- NEAR MINT! Heads show little or no wear. These rarely come up for sale, and never in such pristine condition. The only defect of note- power cord has been modified at some point; it looks like somebody spliced in about a foot of cord and a plug. I live in suburban Portland, Oregon. Problems are few, and I’m very pro-active about solving any that might crop up. Please examine the pictures carefully. They are part of the description. This is NOT a new component. As such, it does not come with any guarantee– implied or written. Vintage audio equipment is sensitive and does not travel particularly well. So in rare instances, that which was working 100% at my house may require adjustment or servicing before working equally well at yours. TEAC A-3300SX Reel To Reel Tape Recorder – Fully Serviced – Near Mint Condition. Acquired from the original owner, this is a near mint well maintained unit. It has gone through a full service procedure by Turntables and Decks, Inc. The work performed includes. +Remove right tension arm switches, pinch solenoid, pinch lever, clean solenoid piston/cylinder, clean and lube lever + tape lifter assembly, fresh locking paint on lever pivot, reinstall, adjust solenoid’s throw + locking paint. +Remove fly wheel, clean wheel and capstan pully, clean bearing, shaft, and thrust, set fly wheel depth, replace capstan belt, reinstall. +Lubricate reel motors and capstan motor. +Clean connector pins on main transport plug. Clean potentiometers and switches. Clean, polish, demagnetize heads. +Replace counter belt, lube counter, condition pinch roller, clean and lube pinch roller bearing. +Adjust recording and playback head azimuths. Calibrate playback, monitor, recording, bias (for RMG 911 tape), and meter levels. Vintage gear is typically 35 to 50 years old and it’s restoration involves a process to keep it as close to original condition as possible. The unit will perform perfectly as described in the description above.
