You are purchasing: One (1) Otari MTR-12 Tape Recorder. This listing is for an Otari MTR-12 Tape Recorder. The exact model is an MTR-12-II-C. It is in perfect condition and works perfectly. We have owned it for many years, it was used in our duplication business, then were mothballed. It still worked perfectly, but we decided to have it refreshed by the legendary “Midnight” Bob Shuster a few weeks ago. He went over the machine with a fine tooth comb and realigned it with alignment tapes and oscilloscopes. He also recapped anything that was necessary. The machine works perfectly and will be amazing for years to come. It is calibrated for SM911 tape. The rubber is in good condition, and the machine has the beautiful, fat analog sound. The heads are in great condition with perfect frequency response in both recording and playback and has excellent transport characteristics. It can also do full erasure. The have the heavier motors that can play 12.5 reels. The machines operate at perfect factory spec per Bob Shuster. This machine comes with a brand new metal reel of SM911 2500′ as well as a brand new Burlington Audio take-up reel in the color of your choice: black, red, blue, silver, or gold. Note that the tape on the machine in the pictures is not what you will be receiving.
