Vintage – Akai X-1800SD Reel to Reel 8 Track Tape Recorder. 13 1/5″ Wide X 16 3/4″ Tall X 11 Deep with cover on. This deck can output to it’s own speakers, line level or headphones, all in stereo. Plays tape reels well at 3 3/4 and 7 1/2 IPS, record not tested. No tapes or reels included. This deck has the optional 15 IPS capstan adapter, untested. Motor will not go from low speed to high without stopping first. This deck looks like it have been very well maintained on the reel side, 8 track section is dirty. 8 Track player drags/flutters, tested with two very old and ugly tapes, all I have. Switches tracks as it should, with indicator lights. Service, Owners Manual and other docs included on CD pdf. Some controls have a bit of static. Please see all the pictures for more details.
