This listing is for a vintage Akai Model 1721W reel-to-reel unit. It does power on. The speakers do crackle when you move the volume knobs and the VU gauges move. The light on the right VU gauge still comes on, but not the left. Both spindles spin correctly when in rewind or fast forward. When looking at the machine, the left spindle is bent slightly. I think this is best seen in the video when it spins. As you can see, it is missing the front’name’ plate and the’door’ cover. The wood frame is chipped badly in one area. You only get what is pictured. Use the’super size’ feature on the pictures to get a better look. Thank you once again.
