For sale is a vintage, one of the top R2R recorders. Pioneer RT-909 10 Reel Tape Recorder with original Manual, New Belt. It takes 10″ and 7″ tapes, and two speeds. The previous owner had it belt replaced just before I acquired it. The heads look pretty clean to me. The recorder plays fine and produces music both channels. All operations on the front panel appear to be fine. Counter and meters all work fine. However, according to my understanding. Recording and the speed control are problematic. Those need services to rectify the problems. My lower than usual asking price reflects this condition it is in. Buyers please take note. Please view the video for operation here. I think the music is a bit dull (less high frequency). This is the only pre-recorded tape which is home made (acquired a while back), and I almost can say that the less-than-average music quality I heard is due to the tape, not the recorder. This is a pretty old tape recorder. It always benefits from regular service and maintenance, which I strongly recommend. Physical condition is very good, with some relatively minor wear and scratches. The sale includes the tape recorder, and original manuals. No hubs, reels, tapes, or any other accessories.
