This is the original model 3340 with toggle switch play modes. It run ¼ tape on all sized reels at 7 ½ and 15 ips. It is installed with NAB adapters to fit large metal 10 reels. This was removed from a local radio station and used in a studio for many years. It still works but it does not rewind or fast forward and is in need of general restoration. I replaced to capstan belt recently and was able to play some old tapes that I had from the studio. It seems to play slightly faster than originally recorded. I have to flip the pinch roller manually to engage and disengage. It seems really gummed up with dried up grease etc. The relays pop and sound like they are engaging however It will not rewind or fast forward. I was able to listen to my tapes and adjust all the tracks with volume controls, a few of the were scratchy when turning. The recording lights up and engage on all tracks. The switches work but are dirty and will require cleaning. As for cosmetics, well it is not pretty. As I said it was used heavily in a college radio station for many years. There are old label stickers on faceplate and the Teac logo plate has long since disappeared. The wooden sides have lots of scratches and scuffs. There is a small guitar shaped image permanently stained on top panel. The corners have dings etc. There is lots of visible corrosion on some of the metal parts/ rollers etc. There is damage to the right reel clip where a small piece of the casting has broken. It will still clip tight on 7 inch reel but requires some finking to get tight. Includes 10 ft power cord. That being said the unit still powers on, plays, meters but it will need a complete overhaul. Which means it must be a residential address, lower 48 states. Boxes or military bases.
