Semi-working AFCO Electronics Model 63 Executive Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder. Vintage / Collectible Eletronics. With a 9 volt battery installed, it will spin freely without the tape loaded. It will try to spin (and occasionally do fine) but there’s some resistance. I’m guessing there’s a build up in the motor’s connection to other parts that’s just putting too much tension to overcome without a little assistance. Likely, some clean up would be all that’s required to bring it back to normal working conditions. Very nice aesthetic condition, see pictures. Includes leather sleeve case.
