The black label means that this has the Akai label, which is mostly found in blue, painted in black by the Akai factory on the reel. It also has the reel model and side number painted below the logo. This has an unrivaled, smooth metallic shine. Even the center screws shine silvery under the light on both sides. We examined this reel extremely carefully and can confidently say that this is exceptionally clean and stunning; the definition one would expect of being nearly flawless. There is no tape residue on the inner plastic core where tape would have been wound. These is certainly one of the finest Akai reels that we have ever found in this boxed packaging. The box itself is still crisp and near mint with the original Akai store sticker attached It almost looks like it was just put there recently! It is extraordinary to find the box as well in such a dignified preserved state. Please, also, see our up-close photographs of the center of the reel where obvious usage is typically discerned. A dreamy brushed aluminum look is revealed. Locating and acquiring Akai metal reels in mint physical appearance and function is an art form for us.
