CUSTOM PAINTED MINT BLACK AKAI GX-747 REEL TO REEL TAPE RECORDER RECAPPED AND SERVICED WITH CUSTOM EXOTIC TEAK SIDE PANELS AND ALUMINUM BACK PANEL! The 2 front panels are finished with automotive emerald black metallic paint. The deck power PCB board has been fully recapped with Panasonic FC, Nichicon capacitors and the audio board was partially recapped with audio grade capacitors 2 years ago. The deck switches and mechanical parts has been cleaned, oiled and lubricated. Pinch roller was replaced with a new pinch roller. Tension arms working as it should. Full service and calibration was done in November of 2020 by Adrian Pro Audio in Canoga Park California. Deck has been calibrated to Recording the Masters LPR 90 tape, playback and recording working to specifications. Like the Teac x 2000R you can only calibrate one tape type using the Normal position. Calibrating the EE position is not possible as the adjustments are common to both tape types. LPR90 tape is a much much better tape with more headroom than the older EE tapes. Heads are in great condition. I got the side panels of the deck custom made with exotic TEAK wood finished with high gloss golden brown. The back particle board was replaced with a custom made aluminum back panel with all the lettering. Unlike the original particle board the aluminum back panel can be cleaned very easily. This deck comes out of my own personal collection. Deck was never hacked or abused and comes from smoke free environment! Please see all pictures. Please note Agfa tape reel is not included!
