1954 Ampex 300 2 Track Tape Recorder. This Recorder has been in my collection for 25 years and is completely stock. It will need a complete restoration prior to being put into service. The metal is very clean and has always been stored in clean dry Southern California. When I obtained this 1954 Ampex 300, I was told that this system had been in service as a flight recorder on a Boeing 1954 B-52 Stratofortress Long Range Bomber, which was owned and operated by the United States Air Force. Please notice the head block metal covering, as it is different than regular commercial grade units of the same age. This covering is supposed to shield the tape from a Nuclear EMP Blast, which the B-52 carried in normal service. Plus, a xerox copy of the 1954 300 operational manual.
